Niamh Egan is an Irish singer based in the UK. She is known for dance-oriented vocal work and for performing under her first name, pronounced “Neeve”.

Early life and training

From an early age, Egan is interested in music. Her earliest memories include whistling songs from the back seat of her father’s car and singing Gloria Estefan songs to her grandfather, from whom she inherits her musical ability. She begins playing the violin at 11 and develops quickly despite starting relatively late.

By 14, she has a scholarship to study Music and Drama at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. After four years there, she leaves with a strong intention to pursue singing as a career.

Education and early career

Egan later studies at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, also known as Paul McCartney’s “Fame School”. While there, she meets Norwegian songwriter and producer Torgeir “T” Bjordal. He is looking for a singer to perform his tracks and finds a match in Egan.

Recording career

In 2010, Egan graduates with a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts (Music) and signs a record deal with Robbins Entertainment, a New York-based label associated with acts including Cascada, September and AnnaGrace. Her first single, “You’re The One”, is written by Torgeir Bjordal and Michael J. Smith.
