NGHTMRE is the stage name of American DJ and producer Tyler Marenyi, who is born in 1990 and works in electronic music, with releases across dubstep, future bass, house, progressive house and trap. He is based in the United States and records on Gud Vibrations, Nghtmre Productions, LLC and TMARE Songs.

Career

NGHTMRE breaks through in 2015 when Skrillex plays an unidentified track of his in an Ultra set. That record becomes a major trap release for that summer and leads to his first headline shows the following week. He then tours extensively, appearing at major festivals in North America including Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, TomorrowWorld, Snow Globe, Freak Night, OMFG NYE, Moonrise, Contact Music Festival and Life In Color Festival.

Within three months of starting out as a touring DJ, he headlines six cities in Australia, including shows at Chinese Laundry and Ambar. He later headlines major North American venues such as Webster Hall, Avalon, The Mid, Beta and Elektricity.

Releases and collaborations

He is known for releases on Mad Decent, including the trap track “Street” and “Lighters Up”, a collaboration with Flosstradamus. He also releases the Nuclear Bonds EP with Slander, described as a notable EP on Diplo’s imprint.

Recognition and support

NGHTMRE’s tracks reach number one on Hype Machine several times. He receives support from Skrillex, Diplo, Bassnectar, Flux Pavilion, Porter Robinson, RL Grime, Yellow Claw, Bro Safari and Snails. He is also given official remix work for The Prodigy, Theophilus London, Keys N Krates, Flux Pavilion, The Griswolds and Elliphant.
