Ngaiire
Ngaiire is a Papua New Guinean-born Australian soul and neo-soul artist from Lae, Australia. She begins drawing attention in the Australian live scene after a series of high-profile supports and guest appearances, and she becomes associated with indietronica and contemporary Australian soul as well as her main vocal-led style.
Career
She features on Paul Mac’s ARIA chart-topping track It’s Not Me, It’s You. She also tours internationally with Urban Roots Crew and Blue King Brown. John Butler selects her to play before his set at the 2009 East Coast Blues & Roots Festival in Byron Bay, and she is later invited to support Texas blues singer Ruthie Foster on her Australian tour in 2009.
Rolling Stone identifies her as a rising Australian artist to watch, and praise from other musicians highlights her voice and songwriting. Her debut album is due for an early 2010 release.
