News From Nowhere

News From Nowhere is a group from Swansea, active since 2011. It is a musical project that is based in and around the Hertfordshire area, and its creative core consists of three people.

Style and approach

The group combines hip-hop vocals with rock and metal guitars, along with prog rock synthesizers and electronics. Its songs use simple structures, and the material is written and recorded by the group itself. Each instrument is recorded by the members rather than by outside players.

Formation

News From Nowhere forms after repeated disappointment with other band members and from a shared frustration with contemporary cultural decline. The project sets up a small recording studio before beginning work on its own material.
