Newen Afrobeat is a Chilean afrobeat group active since 2010. The name Newen means “strength” in the Mapuche language. The group works with the musical legacy of Fela Kuti and its recorded output includes a self-titled debut album, released in 2013, followed by Newen Plays Fela in 2017 and Curiche in 2019.
