New Urban Frontier
New Urban Frontier is an Edinburgh-based group active since 2008. It is a seven-piece live band with a rapper, and its sound brings together punk, dub, soul, ska and reggae influences, with a folk element also associated with the act.
The group forms around a wish to create a new sound rather than fit into a single genre. Its music is described as politicised and inspired by the punk ethos, with a stated aim of challenging genre boundaries and making direct, attention-grabbing music.
