Neville Staple is a singer and composer from Christiana, United Kingdom, born in 1955. He is associated with 2 tone, reggae and ska, and is known for his work with The Specials, Special Beat and Fun Boy Three.

Career

Staple is a singer for The Specials and is one of the founding members of Fun Boy Three. He also works with Special Beat. His career includes collaborations with Elvis Costello, David Byrne and Ali Campbell.

Collaborations and recordings

He works with Roger Lomas in Coventry, England on recordings of Skinhead Girl and Conquering Ruler for Trojan Records. He also co-produces The Best of The Specials & Fun Boy 3 Performed by Neville Staple with John Avila of Oingo Boingo for Cleopatra Records. Other projects include The Specials 1979 on Chrysalis Records, Fun Boy 3 Waiting on Chrysalis Records, and Today's Specials on Kuff Records and Virgin.

Live work

Since 1998, Staple tours extensively in North and South America as a solo performer. His live shows mix older material with original solo songs, and his voice and stage presence are central parts of his performances.
