Nepomuk

Nepomuk is a five-piece group from Dortmund. The band forms in 2004 and later moves from northern Frisia to Hamburg in the summer of 2007 in an effort to establish itself musically in the city. Its members come from a background rooted in Britpop, country and rock’n’roll, but the group develops a sound that moves beyond those influences.

At the time of the band’s early performances, it plays cover versions of songs by bands such as the Kinks and performs seated on bar stools. Over time, its live shows become more energetic. The group’s debut album, Don’t Panic Little Pretty, appears in 2006, and its follow-up, Bohemian Beauty, is described as a more varied and mature record.
