Neo

Neo is a Hungarian indie-electronic group from Budapest, formed in 1998 and active from 1998 to the present. It is also associated with electronic, soundtrack, new wave and eurobeat styles.

Background

The group is best known for its work on Kontroll, a Hungarian film soundtrack released through Magneoton in December 2003. This soundtrack remains the most clearly identified release in the available information and is the main point of recognition for the Budapest act.

Name and other acts

The name Neo is shared by a number of unrelated acts in different countries and genres, including a former English new wave group led by Ian North, a Swedish pop and dance project, an Australian funk and roots band, and several other rock, electronic and pop acts. The Hungarian group is one distinct act among those uses of the name.
