Nekromantheon

Nekromantheon is a Norwegian thrash metal band from Kolbotn, Norway. It forms in 2005 and remains active.

Formation and line-up

Christian Holm gathers the original line-up in spring 2005 with Arild M. Torp, Sindre Solem, who also plays in Obliteration, and Glenn “Biffen” Iversen, who comes from Rabalder. The group sets out to play a raw form of thrash metal rather than the more fashionable styles they reject.

Style and influences

The band’s sound is rooted in classic thrash metal and is described as drawing inspiration from Destruction, Sadus and Kreator. It presents itself as an old-school thrash band with a deliberately dirty and aggressive approach.

Recordings and label history

“We’re Rotting” is the release associated with the band’s early identity. Nekromantheon also becomes the first band released on STØY Music, the label previously known as Anthology Records.
