Necronautical

Necronautical are an English black metal group active since 2010. They form as a collaboration between Russell Dobson, James Goodwin and Matthew McGing, and set out to create a nautical form of black metal built around cold, oceanic themes.

The band’s debut EP, Slaying the Leviathan, appears in 2011. It presents the group’s core direction: bleak, sea-themed black metal concerned with old and new evils and imagery of the briny deep.

Their style is described as black metal with symphonic and melodic elements, alongside the broader UK black metal context.
