Natural Elements

Natural Elements are a US hip-hop group from New York City, associated with freestyle rap and the underground mixtape circuit. The group is first formed in 1993, when producer Charlemagne brings together a loose collection of solo artists and signs them to Fortress Records.

Early line-up

The original line-up includes Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift, KA, G-Blass, Howie Smalls and the InTimidator. By 1995, the group narrows to a trio made up of Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift and A-Butta.

Record deal and unreleased album

Natural Elements build a reputation through frequent appearances on the New York City freestyle and mixtape circuits. This leads to a deal with the Tommy Boy Black label, and the group releases the single “2 Tons” in 1999. An album is completed, but problems with Tommy Boy keep it unreleased.
