Naima Bock

Naima Bock is an English singer-songwriter and bassist from Glastonbury, England, based in London. She spends her early childhood in São Paulo, Brazil, before moving to South London at the age of seven with her family. Her mother is Greek and English, and her father is Brazilian.

She grows up in a musically varied household, with Brazilian artists including Baden Powell, Chico Buarque, Geraldo Vandré and Cartola playing regularly at home and on family drives to the beach. As a teenager, she begins going to live shows, especially at the Windmill in Brixton.

At 15, she starts making music with a group of friends, and this later becomes Goat Girl. She plays bass in the band for six years and tours widely before leaving to pursue a different musical direction. Her solo work includes the debut release 30 Degrees.

Her music is associated with chamber folk, contemporary folk, psychedelic folk and singer-songwriter traditions, with tags also placing her in folk, indie folk, indie pop and indie.
