Nadia Ksaiba is a British DJ and music producer from Gafsa and London. She also records under the alias G&S.

Background

Ksaiba starts out in music as a child, when she switches from violin to guitar and drums. As a teenager she plays in punk bands, makes early forms of dance music using an Atari ST home computer, and works in record shops from the age of fourteen. These experiences shape her later work as both a DJ and producer.

DJ work

She becomes known for her DJing and for her radio show Rhythm Connection on NTS, the Dalston station. She also holds a residency at Our Disco with Rory Phillips. That night runs for five years and features a range of high-profile guests, and it gives her a platform to DJ more widely.

Her DJ sets take her on tour with Simian Mobile Disco and to festivals including Bestival, the Bugged Out Weekender and Stopmakingsense.

G&S and production

Her production work appears through the G&S project, which she shares with Matt Waites. Together they release underground tracks on Andy Blake’s Dissident label, contribute to In Flagranti’s Electric Fling series, and issue an early release on Disco Bloodbath’s own label.

The pair later release music on Erol Alkan’s Phantasy label, where Ksaiba also appears as a singer and songwriter. Their track “Virtual Lover” features her vocals over synth-led house production and points towards a debut album she is working on. The album is intended to draw on disco classics, minimal wave, synth pop and Downtown New York punk funk.

Style

Ksaiba’s work sits across synthpop, electropop, new wave, electronica and indietronic, with clear links to dance music, punk and club culture.
