Mz Bratt is a UK grime and hip-hop artist from East London. Born in 1988, she emerges from the UK urban and dance music scene and is associated with a female presence in a largely male-dominated area of the genre.

Background and early profile

She begins performing locally as a teenager and gains attention through MC battles and a large Myspace following. Her early development is also shaped by her father, MC Scallywag of the late 1980s acid-house outfit Spiral Tribe, whose background contributes to her own electro-fused hip-hop style.

Career and collaborations

Terror Danjah takes an interest in her work after hearing her perform and works with her. She also appears on the T4 entertainment show Music-Cool as the lead female performer. Her live profile expands through a tour with The Count and Sinden, including appearances at Glastonbury and Bestival.
