Myriad
Myriad is a New York group active since 2004. The name is used by more than one band, but the New York act is identified as a progressive metal group and is the version associated with the location and activity dates given here.
Background
The band is from Long Island, New York and forms in 2006 within the wider New York scene. It works in a mix of indie rock, progressive rock, space rock, electronic and psychedelic-influenced styles, with the group also tagged in relation to Vocaloid. Its sound is described through influences that include At The Drive-In, On The Might of Princes, Radiohead and Brand New.
Releases and recording
Myriad self-releases its demo and its first full-length album, The Semantics of Silence. That album is recorded with Ian Love of Rival Schools.
Related act
The name also appears for other groups, including an electronica duo from southern England, a progressive rock duo from Brisbane, and an indie rock band from Southampton, but the New York group is the version tied to the active group profile here.
