MYK

MYK is the stage name of Michael Y. Kim, an MC, DJ, producer and instrumentalist associated with drum and bass, Korean rap, K-pop and hip hop. He begins as a one-man musical project and is based in Korea after moving there from the Bay Area.

Early career

At a young age, MYK serves as the lead vocalist and MC for Weekend Sesh, a local band that focuses on hybrid hip hop. After the group splits up, he moves to Seoul, where he meets Tablo of Epik High. The two connect quickly and start writing music together.

Collaborations and work in Korea

MYK continues to live and work in Korea, where he is working on his debut album while also collaborating with artists in the US. Among those collaborators are Kero One, Jamie Jones of All For One, and Klypso, who later becomes an engineer and producer at Aftermath.
