My Sad Captains

My Sad Captains are a London band active since 2004. The group includes Cathy Lucas and is associated with indie pop, indie rock, folk and rock. They begin as a four-piece formed by Ed Wallis on vocals and guitar, Nick Goss on guitar and sonics, Jim Wallis on drums, keyboards and vocals, and Dan Davis on bass.

Recordings and labels

The band signs to Bella Union. Their early singles come out on Fortuna Pop! and White Heat Records. They then record two albums for Stolen Recordings: Here & Elsewhere in 2009 and Fight Less, Win More in 2011. Their third album, Best of Times, is announced for release on Bella Union in 2014.

Live work and touring

My Sad Captains perform at festivals and events including SXSW, End of the Road, Hard Rock Calling and The Great Escape. They also appear live on BBC 6 Music and XFM. In November 2011 they support Califone on several dates of a European tour, and in 2012 they tour the UK with Still Corners.
