MX LONELY is a Brooklyn shoegaze group active since 2022. The band consists of Rae Haas and Jake Harms. Their sound is also described in connection with noise rock, grunge, indie rock and punk rock.

Style and themes

The band’s songs focus on ideas of monsters in several forms: childhood fears, abuse of power, personal vice and flaws, and the ways people can change under those pressures. Their work combines dark subject matter with a sound that is heavy, murky and also marked by contrasting moments of beauty.

Recording and release history

Their debut full-length album, ALL MONSTERS, is their first release recorded entirely by the band themselves. On it, MX LONELY uses a live, immediate and analogue approach that reflects the feel of their performances while also allowing for a longer and more detailed format than before.
