Mwsog

Mwsog is a Cardiff-based group whose music combines voice, strings, percussion and electronica. The band begins as a north Wales school project and later develops into a Cardiff-based five-piece with new members from university. From 2010, Huw Evans pursues a solo career under the name H. Hawkline.

The group is also described as a collective of seven musicians who call themselves “folk rock sorcerers”. Its lead singer is Mari Mathias, and the collective is credited on her solo single Dawns yr Hâf (Summer Dance). Mwsog’s own debut single is Chwyldro (Revolution).

The name is Welsh for moss.
