Mutoid Man
Mutoid Man is an American metal band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2012 by vocalist and guitarist Stephen Brodsky and drummer Ben Koller. Their sound combines progressive riffs with elements of psychedelic rock, sludge metal and stoner metal. The group first releases an EP, Helium Head, which appears on Magic Bullet in 2013. Brodsky also records the bass parts for the EP, while Nick Cageao plays live bass.
The band signs to Sargent House in 2014 and issues its first full-length album, Bleeder, in 2015. Cageao later becomes a core member of the group and contributes as a writer and player on Bleeder.
Brodsky and Koller both have long-running links with other heavy bands. Brodsky is the vocalist and guitarist of Cave In, which forms in 1995, and also plays bass in Converge from 1997 to 1998. Koller is the drummer of Converge from 1999 and also drums for Cave In from 2005 to 2006. Both musicians also play in each other’s bands at different points.
