Mr. Motivator

Mr. Motivator is the stage name of Derrick Errol Evans, a Jamaican exercise instructor born in 1952. He is known for his appearances on the UK breakfast television programme GMTV in the early 1990s, where he presents fitness routines in brightly coloured outfits that become his trademark.

Born in Pike, Jamaica, 2000 feet above sea level, he moves to the UK in 1961. After being educated in Britain, he builds a public profile as Mr. Motivator and promotes health and fitness as part of everyday life. His videos help make his name familiar to a wide audience, and the Bums Legs and Tums (BLT) series reaches the top of the UK video charts.

He is also known for his catchphrase “Get off yo fat ass!”, often delivered with an angry facial expression. In addition to television work, he undertakes personal appearances, sales conferences, team-building events and motivational talks, and he promotes a range of products and projects as part of his work.
