MORTEN is the stage name of Morten Breum, a Danish DJ and producer from Aarhus, Denmark, born in 1982. He starts out as a teaching assistant in Amaliegården, Beder, before moving into music.

Career

He first becomes widely known in 2008 for a remix of Højere vildere (skru op for den bitch), a collaboration between Rune RK and Morten Breum featuring Nik & Jay. The track wins several awards at that year’s Danish Deejay Awards. In 2009, he releases the album Drop!, followed by Nightclub Session in 2010.

He builds a profile through a series of club and chart singles, including Domestic featuring Nik & Jay, which reaches number 3 in the Danish Singles Chart and is certified gold. Fest, again with Nik & Jay, reaches number 2, while Every Time (You Look at Me) featuring Sisse Marie becomes his biggest hit and tops the Danish Singles Chart. Other singles associated with him include On It!, Højere vildere with Rune RK, Heads Up and Hamra.
