Mordecai

Mordecai, also known as Valac, is a South African artist and DJ associated with the Amapiano genre. He is born and raised in Katlehong, in the east of Johannesburg, South Africa, and grows up in a music-influenced household, which leads him to make his own music.

His work uses laid-back rhythms and melodic elements typical of Amapiano. He works with a range of artists including JayJayy, Thatohatsi, Royal Musiq, Shakes & Les, W4DE and CowBoii, and his music contributes to the wider popularity of the genre in South Africa and internationally.
