Moon Walker

Moon Walker

Moon Walker is a US rock group from Denver, active since 2021. The project centres on Harry Springer, who composes, produces and performs the music, and it also includes Sean McCarthy. Its sound sits across alternative rock, indie rock, punk rock and rock.

Formation and early purpose

The group begins during the Covid-19 pandemic, when Springer forms it while looking for a way to use his time and earn money by selling songs to music libraries. After selling some tracks, he keeps a set of songs that he does not want to give away, and these become the basis for the project’s debut release.

Recorded output

Moon Walker’s debut record is Truth to Power, a seven-track album built from the songs Springer keeps for himself. The project then follows it with The Attack of Mirrors, a more expansive second album.

Reception

The group gains sudden viral attention on TikTok, which helps establish its profile. Springer’s work also receives praise from Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, and the debut record helps position Moon Walker as a notable new rock act.
