Mood II Swing is a New York house music production duo made up of John Ciafone and Lem Springsteen. The pair works in deep house and house, and releases music under Mood II Swing Productions.

Career

The duo begins with an unsuccessful attempt at R&B before moving into house music. Early productions include Sylvano’s “Helpless” and Wall of Sound’s “Critical”, followed by “I Need a Bitch” for Cutting and “Searchin’” for Groove On. These records establish the duo’s direction and lead into a period when Mood II Swing becomes one of the most in-demand remix acts of the late 1990s.

Their remix of Ultra Naté’s “Free” for Strictly Rhythm becomes a major hit and brings them wider recognition. They also remix BT’s “Remember” and King Britt’s “The Reason”, and later work on Ultra Naté’s “Found a Cure”, which also becomes a hit internationally. The Nervous label later releases a set of earlier, previously overlooked productions by the duo as Mood II Swing’s Nervous Tracks.
