Monrroe

Monrroe is the drum and bass project of Elijah Symons, a producer from Cheltenham, United Kingdom. He works in liquid and deep drum and bass, and his music is described as combining a melodic, soulful approach with the energy of the genre. His productions are noted for an organic, human feel alongside atmospheric and eerie qualities.

Symons grows up in Stanway in the West Country, and his early listening is shaped by 1990s jungle and acid house. He later identifies Logistics’ City Life as the release that makes him realise his interest in liquid drum and bass. His mother is also an important influence, encouraging his interest in music and supporting his early development as a DJ and producer.

He starts the Monrroe production project in 2013, while still studying for a degree in Music Technology. From the start, he begins to attract attention in the drum and bass scene for his distinctive sound and is seen as a developing figure within the genre.
