Monotonix

Monotonix is an Israeli garage rock band from Tel Aviv, active from 2005 to 2011. The group is a trio made up of Haggai Fershtman, Yonatan Gat and עמי שלו, playing vocals, guitar and drums.

The band is known for high-energy live shows that often take on a performance-art quality. Their performances include staging elements such as lighting drums on fire and hanging from ceiling fixtures, with audience involvement forming part of the show. Setlists and stage behaviour vary from city to city, so performances are not presented in the same way twice.

Monotonix tour internationally and perform across the world. In the United States, they open for the Silver Jews on the west coast and play to large crowds in cities including San Francisco and Los Angeles. They also tour the United States and Europe in 2006, sharing bills with Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Oneida, Calvin Johnson, The Thermals, Kimya Dawson of the Moldy Peaches, Old Time Relijun, Federation X, Birds of Avalon and Now It's Overhead, among others.

The band records its debut full-length in Tel Aviv with producer Kramer, whose credits include Daniel Johnston, Low, Pussy Galore and Butthole Surfers.
