Mongol Horde

Mongol Horde is an English hardcore punk side project based in London. It forms around Frank Turner, who performs under the alias Renrut, and includes Ben Dawson, known as Awesome, on drums, and Matt Nasir, known as Nadir, on guitar. Turner and Dawson both come from Million Dead, while Nasir is a member of The Sleeping Souls.

Background

The group emerges in 2012. It plays hardcore punk with links to hardcore, melodic hardcore, punk and post-hardcore. Its sound is compared with the Swedish hardcore band Refused.

Releases and performances

The band releases three original songs: Casual Threats From Weekend Hardmen, How the Communists Ruined Christmas, and Tapeworm Uprising. It also plays at Reading & Leeds Festival in 2012.

Name change

In 2022, the band changes its name to Mingle Harde, and its back catalogue on streaming services moves under that name.
