Moliy

Moliy is a singer and songwriter of Ghanaian and American descent. Her childhood moves between Accra and Orlando, Florida shape her musical background, and her sound draws on Afrobeats, reggae, soul, jazz and hip-hop. She identifies as a genre-bender and uses social platforms to share freestyles and other material that present her versatility as a vocalist and melody writer.

Her music is rooted in soul and influenced by regular karaoke performances with family and friends. In 2020, she releases Wondergirl, a six-track EP that develops an Afro-fusion style and marks a key point in her career. The release gains airplay beyond Ghana, including in Nigeria, The Gambia and Kenya. She is associated with a new generation of female artists in Ghana’s music scene and is part of the wider rise of Ghanaian music internationally.
