Modular

Modular is an Argentine group formed in 2000. Its name comes from the Moog Modular analogue synthesiser series, and the group takes its sound and imagery from space-age electronic music and retrofuturist design.

Style and approach

The group works in lounge, psychedelic pop and sunshine pop, with a broader sound that also draws on easy listening, 1960s and 1970s soundtrack music, grooving bossa lounge, orchestral pop and vintage electronic textures. It combines vintage and analogue instruments with digital technology, and uses recording and orchestration techniques associated with the 1960s.

Repertoire and releases

Modular also issues CDs of remixes of well-known tracks, including versions of Woman by Wolfmother and Standing In The Way Of Control by The Gossip. These recordings result in an electric synth-pop sound.

Live activity

The group performs live at festivals and in clubs in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
