Mobs

Mobs are a hardcore punk and punk group from Kobe, Japan. They emerge in the early 1980s as one of the first hardcore punk acts from Japan and become part of the country’s early hardcore movement.

Releases

The band releases its first 7-inch EP, Diabolism, in 1984 on Noise Room Records. In the same year, Mobs also appear on the compilation LP Hardcore Unlawful Assembly on AA Records alongside acts including G.I.S.M., Laughin' Nose and Lip Cream. Their second EP, Projection of Astral Body, follows in 1985. In 1987 they issue Gypsy of Journey and their first full-length studio album, Resurrection The Mobs, on Advance Records.

Reception and context

Projection of Astral Body receives a positive review from Pushead in Maximum Rocknroll issue 34, published in March 1986.

Status

The group is disbanded.
