Miya Folick is an American singer-songwriter from Santa Ana, California. Her music is described as indie pop, pop and singer-songwriter material, and she releases work on her own label, Miya Folick Songs.

Background and influences

Folick is born in 1989 and grows up in Southern California. She speaks about her multicultural background, including a Japanese mother, and her upbringing in a religious community as important influences on her songwriting. She later studies acting at NYU, but does not continue with that path and returns to Los Angeles to focus on music.

Recording career

Folick begins releasing music with the debut EP Strange Darling in 2015. A second EP, Give It to Me, follows in 2017 and includes the singles “Pet Body” and “God Is a Woman,” which help broaden her audience through streaming platforms and touring.

Her first full-length album, Premonitions, appears in 2018. It includes “Stop Talking” and marks her debut on a major independent label. She tours in support of the album across the United States and internationally.

In 2022, Folick releases the EP 2007, which reflects on her teenage years. She then issues her second studio album, Roach, in 2023, with singles including “Bad Thing” and “Get Out of My House.” Her third studio album, Erotica Veronica, follows in 2025 and is preceded by the singles “Erotica” and “La Da Da.”

Live work

Across her career, Folick performs at major music festivals and tours with a range of indie and alternative artists.
