Mitch Malloy

Mitch Malloy is an American singer-songwriter from Dickinson, North Dakota, born in 1964. He is known for hard rock, AOR, melodic rock, hair metal and glam metal, and is also described as an award-winning songwriter.

Early life

Malloy grows up in Dickinson, the youngest of six children. His singing ability is noticed at the age of six by a first-grade teacher, who hears that his voice stands out from the rest of the class. After that, he sings the lead solo in school music concerts and continues singing in school and church.

Recording career

After years of looking for opportunities in a larger city, Malloy works with manager Richard Sanders, who later becomes president of RCA Records. Sanders signs him as an artist, and Malloy secures a deal with RCA/BMG.

His first album, Mitch Malloy, sells more than 100,000 copies and produces two top 20 singles. It also leads to an appearance on The Tonight Show and a video for the song “Anything at All”.

His second RCA album, Ceilings & Walls, includes a duet with Paul Carrack and features Mike Rutherford on guitar. He also works with songwriters Dennis Morgan, Mike Reid and Mac McAnally. The album includes the top 20 hit “Tumbling Down”.

Songwriting recognition

Malloy wins the International Songwriting Competition with “Love Made A Liar Out Of Me”, placing first among 85,000 songs.
