Misty Conditions

Misty Conditions is a group formed by Henry Collins, also known as Shitmat, and Richard Wilson, also known as Burnkane. The project begins after the two meet in Henry’s studio and spend several days jamming together, developing a strong working understanding. It then continues as an online collaboration, with Henry living in France and Richard in Los Angeles.

The pair divide the work between them: Henry creates banks of samples, while Richard builds software and effects to cut up and re-sample the material. They send tracks back and forth until they feel complete. The music they make is described as different from the work either artist is otherwise known for, and it starts from a more stripped-back, slower tempo than Henry’s earlier jungle-based recordings under the Shitmat name.
