Miss World

Miss World is the name used by more than one artist. One is the solo project of London-based musician Natalie Chahal, who is also a member of Shit Girlfriend. Another is a side project by Jonathan Perkins, a session and touring musician who has contributed to writing credits for UK Top 20 hits. A third act uses the name for a release described as “demented industrial disco”.

Natalie Chahal’s solo project

As a solo project, Miss World is based in London and is associated with Natalie Chahal’s work outside Shit Girlfriend. In 2017, Chahal signs to Stockholm label PNKSLM Recordings after touring North America and releases the EP Waist Management. The following year, she releases the debut album Keeping Up With Miss World.

Jonathan Perkins’ side project

Miss World is also the name of a side project by Jonathan Perkins, who works as a session and touring musician. He has writing credits on UK Top 20 hits and releases three albums with his MISS WORLD band, including a self-released album in 2007.

Other use of the name

The name Miss World also appears on a release from Machine Tribe Recordings. That music is described as “demented industrial disco” and features overdriven beats, primal synthesizers, and heavy bass, with tracks ranging from dancefloor-focused pieces to slower songs.
