Origins and early work

Caroline Hervé is born in Grenoble in 1973 and becomes involved in the mid-1990s rave scene as a DJ at Dragon Ball parties. In 1996 she moves to Geneva, Switzerland, and signs to Mental Groove Records. In 1998 she signs to International Deejay Gigolos. The duo forms in 1997.

Albums and style

Their debut album, First Album, arrives after a run of EPs in 2001. The record combines synth pop and new wave with electro, disco and funk, and it also carries a strong sense of humour and sensuality. The duo follow it with Two in 2009 and Third Album in 2022.

Miss Kittin also performs live in costumes, including a nurse outfit, and collaborates with artists such as Felix Da Housecat and Goldenboy. In an Intuitive Music annual poll for 2002, Miss Kittin & The Hacker are voted the second-best electronica artist.
