Miss DJax is the alias of Saskia Slegers, a techno, acid and schranz DJ and producer from Eindhoven in the Netherlands, born in 1962. She is also the founder of Djax Records, an underground dance label with a range of sub-labels.
Djax Records
Slegers founds and runs Djax Records, which builds a reputation as an important techno, acid and dance label. The label issues underground releases consistently and is associated with Eindhoven, sometimes referred to as “Acidhoven” in connection with its place in electronic music. A book titled 1989 - 1999 Djax Records The Power of the Underground includes a comment by James Hymann of MTV Europe describing it as one of the decade’s crucial labels and one of the world’s most talked about labels.
Artists who release on Djax include Felix da Housecat, Justin Berkovi, Claude Young, Luke Slater, DJ Rush and Miss Djax herself. The label also receives multiple awards as best record label.
DJ work
Alongside label management, Miss Djax works as an international DJ and appears regularly on lists of leading DJs. She plays at major events worldwide and performs at large-scale dance festivals and parties, including Love Parade, Love Nation, Mayday, Nature One and I Love Techno. The text notes several repeat appearances at these events, including two closes at the Victory Tower at Love Parade, four sets at Love Nation, six at Mayday and four at Nature One.
