Mirror Signal
Mirror Signal is the recording name of British singer, songwriter and producer Steven Barker, who is based in Suffolk, England. Born in 1994, he starts writing songs at the age of 12 and begins making music around the age of 9. His work combines electronic music with jazz and soul influences, and he develops as a solo artist with a strong focus on melody and groove.
Early work and style
Barker turns more fully towards electronic influences in 2012, when he buys a MacBook and begins working on a solo EP using skills learned at college. His music draws on soul, jazz and electronic ideas, with his later profile identified mainly around electronic and jazz.
Releases and live appearances
Mirror Signal releases the Broken Soldier EP in April 2013. After that release, he is picked up by management and plays support slots for artists including Jamie Cullum, Andreya Triana and Young Kato. He also appears at major UK festivals including Reading and Leeds, Latitude and the Isle of Wight Festival.
Broadcast and wider attention
His music receives radio support from Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music, XFM and a number of regional stations. In 2016 he appears at the Montreal Jazz Festival after being invited by Jamie Cullum and PRS. His song “All Along” is also used in several television shows, helping extend his profile internationally.

Mirror Signal continues recording new material in Suffolk.
