Minimal Violence

Minimal Violence is a Vancouver DJ and producer duo made up of A. Luk and Lida P. Active from 2014 to 2022, the project works within techno and electronic music and is associated with the city's DIY scene.

The duo uses a loose combination of synths and drum machines, with initial recordings often cut live to capture a raw, immediate sound. Their approach is marked by a direct, forceful style.

Their work draws on early industrial groups and cyberpunk literature. One of its recurring themes is the dystopian “InDreams inc.” megacorp, presented through rave-influenced, cult-like imagery designed by Kevin McCaughey of Boot Boyz.
