Milkweed
Milkweed is an American ambient artist from Chicago. The name is also used by several other acts, including an Ohio metal band, a UK experimental folk duo, a Canadian progressive rock ensemble from Québec, and an American pop-folk group from Binghamton, New York.
As the Chicago ambient project, Milkweed is identified with the city’s electronic and atmospheric music scene. The broader name has also been used for a late-1990s Ohio-based metal band whose sound blends heavy music with jazz, techno and hip-hop influences, as well as for a UK duo that combines traditional music, freak folk, dub and spoken word with lo-fi tape techniques. Another Milkweed was a Québec prog-rock group that released a self-titled album in 1978 and featured Marcel Lapointe, Jocelyn Sheehy and Pierre Nadeau.
