M.I.L.K.

M.I.L.K. is a South Korean girl group active from 2001 to 2003. The group is made up of four members: Hyun Jin, Jae Young, Bomi and Yumi. Its name stands for “Made In Lovely Kin”.

Formation and background

Before the group forms, three of the four members—Jae Young, Bomi and Yumi—have already worked with SM Entertainment through appearances in music videos by artists on the label. Bomi appears the most often and is already known among fans for those appearances. The group is produced by H.O.T. member Moon Hee Jun.

Recording and releases

M.I.L.K. releases its first album in late 2001 through BM Entertainment. Although the group is not officially part of SM Entertainment, it is strongly associated with the company because it appears frequently in SM Town seasonal albums and other SM-related activities.

Later activity

After the first album campaign ends, M.I.L.K. continues to appear in SM Town seasonal releases, but by summer 2003 only Hyun Jin is still appearing on behalf of the group. Public uncertainty follows over whether the group is still active, with reports ranging from a second album to a split. In 2004, Yumi signs with another company, making a return by the group unlikely. Jae Young later uses the name Hee Bon.

Members and affiliations

The members are Hyun Jin, Jae Young, Bomi and Yumi. Hyun Jin, Jae Young and Bomi remain signed with SM Entertainment, while Yumi is with SUM Entertainment.
