Mike

Mike is a Chicago-area pop punk band from the United States. It is active from 1996 to 2000 and is formed by Joel, Fredrik, Viktor and Jesper, all from the southern part of Stockholm/Sweden. The four members have already played in other bands before forming Mike: Viktor starts No Division in 1996, Jesper joins that band in 2000 when it is called Pronoid and stays for five years, Joel plays in Dechas, and Fredrik plays in In Memory Of Me and other groups.

Jesper and Joel begin talking about playing punk together after Jesper leaves Pronoid, then bring in Viktor and Fredrik to jam on Jesper’s songs. After about a year, Fredrik leaves and the band tries two drummers before choosing Totte, who has previously played in Milk bar, Devoured, Songea and Simpleton. Totte makes his first live appearance with Mike after about a week in the band, and the group records two songs a week later.

The band releases its material in the punk rock scene of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
