Mike Wilkinson is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans blues, folk, rock and country. He begins writing songs at 11 and makes his earliest recordings in 1971. In 1991, he has an indie country hit with “Breakin’ Plans”.
Career
After the country success of “Breakin’ Plans”, Wilkinson returns to his blues, folk and rock roots. He performs solo for several years in an acoustic and folk style before forming The Blue Mirrors, a rock and blues band that plays mostly his own songs alongside more obscure cover versions.
The Blue Mirrors perform around Michigan for nearly five years. After that period, Wilkinson continues songwriting and recording his self-written material, and he also returns to solo performance.
Recording and instrumentation
Wilkinson plays guitar, harmonica, keyboards and other instruments on his recordings, and he performs all vocal parts himself. His later full CD recordings include material from ABANDON IN PLACE and ACCIDENTAL MIRACLE.
Current activity
He continues to write, record and perform, working both solo and toward a new band line-up.
