Mike Francis is the stage name of Francesco Puccioni, an Italian singer and composer from Firenze. Born in 1961, he begins writing songs seriously after high school, while also studying composition and arrangement. He dies in 2009.

Early career and style

Francis adopts an English-language stage name because of his direct contact with American culture. His work develops from melodic, sophisticated dance music, and his activity combines writing and composition for his own recordings and for other performers.

Albums and songs

His first album, Let's not talk about it, includes the song “Survivor” and marks the start of his recorded career. On this release he also records “Let Me In”. The following year he releases Features, a second LP that shows his musical development. Its tracks include “Features of Love” and “You can't get out of my Heart”, and it also contains “Together”, along with new versions of “I'm not in Love” by 10 CC and “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers. Another song associated with him is “Dusty Road”.

Writing for other artists

Francis also writes and composes for other artists. In particular, he works on Amii Stewart's “Friends”, which has chart success in both Black American and English charts, and on “Together”, where he is again credited as author and composer.
