Mighty Oaks

Mighty Oaks is a Berlin-based folk trio made up of Claudio Donzelli, Ian Hooper and Craig Saunders. The group forms in Berlin, Germany, and has been active since 2010. Its sound sits within folk rock and indie rock, with the act also associated with folk, singer-songwriter, indie and indie folk.

Background

The band takes its name from its interest in nature and from the phrase “mighty oaks from little acorns grow”, which it treats as a description of its own development. The project builds around the three-member lineup and presents itself as a folk-focused collaboration rather than a solo act.

Releases

Mighty Oaks releases four EPs after forming: Mighty Oaks and Driftwood Seat in 2011, Just One Day in 2012, and Brother in 2014. Its first full-length album, Howl, appears in 2014 and is issued on Universal Records.
