midwxst is an American rapper and singer from Indiana, born in 2003 and raised in Indianapolis. He is Edgar Nathaniel Sarratt III and first records music in high school, initially using the name $uspect before adopting midwxst.

Early life and background

midwxst grows up in a military family and moves frequently, an experience he says shapes his adaptability and resilience. He is diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, and this also influences his creative approach. He begins making music in his bedroom while still at school.

Style and scene

He first gains attention on SoundCloud in the hyperpop community, with music that draws on hyperpop, emo rap, trap, pop, electronic music, hip hop and alternative rock. The album is co-executive produced by midwxst and Sophie Gray and focuses on love, personal growth and mental health.
