Midnight Wire

Midnight Wire are a UK rock band. They are a four-piece indie rock group based in Leicester and form in September 2011. Their early comparisons include Two Door Cinema Club, The Libertines and The Clash.

Releases and activity

The band’s debut single, Oh Lola, is released worldwide in February and receives a positive response from critics as well as national radio play. A debut album is planned for March 2014.

Live work and festivals

Midnight Wire complete two 35-date UK headline tours, playing venues including the O2 Academy, the 100 Club in London and the Cavern in Liverpool. They also appear at Carl Barat, Gary Numan and Chris McCormack’s London clubnight Jubilee at the Camden Barfly, and play the Brixton Jamm as part of Alt J’s tour. Their festival and event appearances include Summer Sundae Festival, Strawberry Fields Festival, Riverside Festival, and headline slots at Oxjam Islington and Oxjam Hackney.

Recognition

They are crowned the 2012 winners of the Original Band Showcase and receive support from BBC Introducing.
