Midnight Generation

Midnight Generation is a Mexican dance-funk, synthpop and electronic group based in Monterrey and active since 2014. The band is led by Fernando Mares and is associated with disco, dance, funk, electronic and electronica styles.

Career and releases

The group starts out playing funk in Mexico and develops a live following through performances that move from basement shows to festival stages in North and South America. Its line-up includes Fernando, Samy, Carlos and Bica. Midnight Generation releases two LPs and is known for songs including “Young Girl”, “Calling You” and “Together”.

Performances and collaborations

Midnight Generation supports shows by Chromeo, Sticky Fingers, Polo & Pan and Camilo Séptimo, building its profile through live appearances alongside those acts.

Afterlife

In 2023, the group releases Afterlife as its latest album.
