Microtrauma

Microtrauma is the German electronic duo of Daniel Päßler and Ricardo Linke. The pair have made music together since 1995 and form the project in 2005. Their work sits across minimal techno, techno, neotrance, breaks, ambient and electronic soundscapes, with a style described as combining melodic sequencing and an organic, band-like feel.

Early releases and breakthrough

The duo first build momentum in 2007, when two EPs bring them wider attention. Their track “Aktin” becomes their best-known early release and is played by DJs including John Digweed, Sasha and James Zabiela, later appearing in a BBC Essential Mix by James Zabiela.

Work with Traum

Microtrauma begin releasing through Traum with a remix of Max Cooper’s “Stochastisch Serie”. They then issue their first solo EP on the label, Colourblind, which includes remixes by Max Cooper, Ryan Davis and Richie G from Bedrock. This is followed by the Emilia EP, with remixes by Max Cooper, Mononoid and Morris Cowan. The track “Circulate” reaches high positions in the Beatport charts and remains there for months, marking their international breakthrough. They also remix Ümit Han for Traum, and a remix for Rob Clouth appears on the label in 2012.

Live work

The duo perform live with Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin in their hometown and receive positive responses from those artists and other associated DJs. They continue to play internationally, with many shows in Germany and France.
